About Muneeb Ata

Salaam! My name is Muhammad "Muneeb" Ata. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan and grew up in Scottsboro, Alabama and Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am the youngest of three and have been told that "it shows."

I graduated from Jenks High School where I founded a cricket team and served as a captain for the debate squad. I attended the University of Oklahoma, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology and my Bachelor of Arts in Letters with Honors. I spent 3 hours a week in lab, translated Caesar's writing from Latin to English, researched bugs at a biological station, argued Constitutional controversies, and helped organize student demonstrations to leave campus better than how we found it. Along the way, I got very lucky. I met amazing people who believed in me and got to work on issues I care about at my mayor's office and Gathering Place.

After college, I worked on special projects and led communications at George Kaiser Family Foundation. I loved every second of it. I'm now at Stanford and Harvard completing dual degrees in business and public administration. I've heavily focused on investing the past few years and have gotten the chance to lead a team of 8 MBAs at the Stanford GSB Impact Fund (venture capital) as well as move to Muscat and work at Oman's sovereign wealth fund.

When I'm not in class or side-questing, you'll likely find me building my startup, playing cricket, or writing.
